Menstrual Bleeding in

Women Treated with Oral Anticoagulants

There is little data on menstrual blood flow in women treated with oral anticoagulants.  The purpose of this survey is to determine whether oral anticoagulant therapy affects menstrual blood flow in women.

Females followed at the Coumadin Clinic at University Medical Center will be asked to  complete a survey regarding change in menstrual blood flow after initiation of oral anticoagulation therapy.    This six week study will begin after the New Year, 2007 and is being done by Tamara Lee, Pharm D, a resident in the pharmacy program at UMC.  Data for evaluation should be available spring 2007.
